Usual Opening Hours
We are open throughout the year for group bookings, we will also be open to the public on Tuesdays & Wednesdays , please check the website for any updated opening times.

Making a special trip?
If you are making a special journey to the area and would like to visit us, if you are not part of a group booking, please fill out a booking form or email the Curator and we will try our best to open for you.
One-off closure times
Due to our small staff, we occasionally have to close for short periods.
Evening and group times
We can open for groups and in the evening by prior arrangement. Contact us at least two weeks before you plan to visit, and we’ll make you very welcome.

Find us
The museum is about 1 mile from Leicester city centre, on Aylestone Road. When nearby, just look out for the red brick clock tower; that’s us. Our full address for Sat-Nav users is:

Car and bike parking:
To find the museum car-park, enter the gates to the British Gas site and the museum is located on your immediate left. Turn left around the back of the museum to find the car-park and bike rack.
By train:
The nearest station is Leicester (LEI). A taxi from the station is approximately £6.00.
By bus:
The 84, 85 and 87 services run regularly down Aylestone Road, and all stop within walking distance of the museum. For up-to-date timetables please visit the Arriva Bus website.
